Princeton Women’s Network Houston invites you to "A Conversation on Family Planning Access in Texas post-Dobbs." In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, state laws now restrict abortion access in Texas. Join Dr. Rebecca Wells ‘88 to discuss questions such as: What are children being taught about sex in Texas schools? How accessible is contraception throughout the state? What are Texans' current abortion options? How does maternal and child health in Texas compare to that in other states? How will recent policy changes affect maternal and child well-being? This conversation will provide an opportunity to consider how federal, state, and local decisions affect individuals' lives and public health in the Lone Star State. About the Speaker: Rebecca Wells ‘88 is a Professor in the Department of Management, Policy, and Community Health at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston, and Director of the School’s Center for Health Systems Research, Policy, and Practice. She majored in public policy at what is now the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, with a certificate in Women’s Studies, and later earned a master's degree in health services administration and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Professor Wells has published extensively on health care integration, focusing on safety net providers.
